Loprinze Aviation offers float training in 2 American Champion Scouts on Wipline 2100A amphibious floats.
The Scout has a 180 hp Lycoming O-360.
Both aircraft are well suited to the task of introducing you to float flying on our many local lakes, rivers, and ponds. Even at the stately speed of 95 knots (or sometimes less), we can visit multiple bodies of water in each session.
The Scout will be in the water May to November depending on the hold winter exerts in any season (we like liquid water for training).
We are proud to offer these aircraft, along with our talented instructors, to bring you high quality, standardized, safe, training that focuses on risk management and fun!
With multiple instructors to work with, we can offer accelerated programs, or more conventional, on demand scheduling options.
We are located an hours drive north of Boston Logan airport, and have multiple lodging options close by.
We will offer a limited number of day long adventures in our Scouts as you hone your skills with practical application of using a seaplane for transportation to some of Northern New England's most pristine waterways.
Leave our hangar at Nashua Airport early in the morning and head north to experience the reason we all were drawn to float planes. Allow our skilled instructors to guide you as you plan fuel stops, manage aircraft loading, and deal with real world challenges of operating a float plane on an extended cross country. Each day is planned to meet the goal of safely providing you with as varied an experience as possible. After a break for lunch (included) continue exploring until you arrive back at Nashua before sunset with 4-7 float hours, valuable practical experience, and memories to last a lifetime.
Whenever possible we will attempt to match you up with another candidate who will be closely paralleling your route in our other Scout. We can also accommodate groups of 2 to share the adventure, one in each airplane.
